InterContinental Hotels Group has opened an all-suite Crowne Plaza hotel in Arlington, Texas. The 200-room Crown Plaza-Arlington, formerly the Arlington Hotel & Suites, offers more than 5,500 square feet of meeting space.

Numerous improvements have been completed at the 428-room Hilton Tucson (Ariz.) El Conquistador Golf and Tennis Resort. These include renovations to the lobby and ballroom. Upgrades to the golf course will finish up Sept. 15, and a facelift for the Sundance Restaurant will be done Sept. 30.

The Doubletree Hotel Houston-Post Oak in the Uptown Houston business district will be renamed the Hilton Houston Post Oak following a $13 million renovation, to be completed in the first quarter of 2005. Work will be done throughout the 448-room property. The hotel offers more than 30,000 square feet of meeting space.

The Amrita spas at the eight Raffles hotels and resorts worldwide will now be known as RafflesAmrita Spas. The name change was done simply to give brand recognition to the Amrita spa name.

Dubai, UAE, will offer every international Marriott brand this November, when the 165-room Courtyard by Marriot Green Community Dubai opens in the titular and increasingly fashionable business district. The property, which will feature meeting and function space for 500 as well as two restaurants, will be operated by Marriott International's first female general manager in the Middle East, Elaine Watson.

Last week, Minneapolis-based RWB Development announced it would build the Minneapolis Chambers Hotel to more than twice its planned size. Upon completion in early 2006, the expanded boutique hotel will now have 27 luxury suites, 26 deluxe guest rooms, several small meeting rooms.
