The National Business Travel Association's annual convention concludes tonight in Orlando. The meeting attracted a record attendance of almost 5,000, including more than 1,000 direct members (corporate travel managers). Among the announcements made at the convention were:
*The Canadian Alliance of Business Travel has become a subsidiary of NBTA, expanding the reach of both organizations and the benefits available to members.
*NBTA's Technology Committee released a white paper Monday examining the emerging Internet travel management company (ITMC) model. "Factors in Assessing the Online Travel Management Company Model" explores the account management, savings potential and functionality of ITMCs. The report is available to members only on the NBTA website.
