Harrah's Entertainment purchase of Horseshoe Gaming Holding Corp. for $1.45 billion is a done deal. Harrah's, which made a play for Horseshoe Gaming in September 2003, had been waiting on approval from the Federal Trade Commission, which wrapped up its transaction investigation July 1. The deal gives Harrah's control of three Horseshoe properties in Tunica, Miss.; Shreveport-Bossier City, La.; and Hammond, Ind., all of which will keep the Horseshoe name.
