Harrah's Entertainment purchase of Horseshoe Gaming Holding Corp.
for $1.45 billion is a done deal. Harrah's, which made a play for
Horseshoe Gaming in September 2003, had been waiting on approval
from the Federal Trade Commission, which wrapped up its transaction
investigation July 1. The deal gives Harrah's control of three
Horseshoe properties in Tunica, Miss.; Shreveport-Bossier City,
La.; and Hammond, Ind., all of which will keep the Horseshoe
