A new mountain hideaway opens tomorrow in Colorado. The Elk Mountain Resort in Ridgway is 40 minutes outside Telluride and features 75 guest rooms in the main lodge and several two-story cottages. Amenities include a 1,500-square-foot fitness room, a 160-seat outdoor dining deck, a cigar bar, dining for 20 in the wine cellar and an 1,800-square-foot ballroom.

Orient-Express hotels has entered into an agreement to purchase the Afloat in France, a Hilton Head Island, S.C.-based company that owns five luxury canal barges that ply the rivers of France.

The landmark 102-room King George II has reopened in Athens following a 14-year restoration. The property, a member of Leading Hotels of the World, has a ballroom and boardroom for meetings.

Brentwood Bay Lodge & Spa, a new luxury resort on British Columbia's Vancouver Island, opened May 27. The oceanfront resort offers 33 suites and conference facilities equipped with Wi-Fi Internet access. Additional features include a marina, spa and outdoor heated pool, and an eco-adventure center with Canada's only dive program approved by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors.

The 2,563-room Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas breaks ground today on a $37 million, 62,000-square-feet expansion of its Rio Pavilion Convention Center. To be completed next May, the new phase of the convention center will offer 160,000 square feet of space.
