Marriott announced plans to make uniform all 68 of its spas by issuing guidelines concerning amenities, facilities and services. Spas meeting the new standards will be renamed "Revive." New Marriott properties will be built in accordance to the standards, while existing properties will be updated throughout the year.

The Onyx Hotel and Ruby Room opened yesterday afternoon, one day later than its intended unveiling. The 112-room property is the first to open in Boston's North Station area since the city began its exhaustive and soon-to-be-completed Big Dig project. In addition to a distinctively plush and high-style decor, the Onyx offers an intimate but high-end 500 square feet of meeting space.

The 221-room Collin Plaza Hotel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will be reflagged as the Cedar Rapids Marriott late this summer. John Q. Hammons Hotels, owner and manager of the property, announced the changeover last Friday in conjunction with a multimillion-dollar revitalization of the property.

Eight junior suites and a pool will be added to the 100-room Little Dix Bay, A Rosewood Resort, in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, and the all guest rooms also will be refurbished. The resort will close from Sept. 8 to Oct. 15 to finish the renovations.

On Friday, the Harborfront Inn at Greenport (N.Y.) will open its doors. The 35-room luxury property, on the Long Island waterfront and surrounded by vineyards and golf courses, has three meeting rooms and a suite with a 1,000-square-foot terrace for special events.
