Oliver Jordan, president and CEO of the Barbados Tourism Authority, resigned last Wednesday and will leave the BTA on July 31 to take a position at a regional company in the private sector. He has been with the authority since July 1998 and in his current position since November 2001. An executive search has begun to find a replacement.
The Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau announced restaurateur Phil Stefani has been named its new chairman of the board. "I am honored to lead Chicago's convention and tourism industry in this capacity," Stefani said. "We have some very real challenges ahead of us in order to maintain the long-term health of the city's visitor industry, but I'm confident that we can achieve our goals." Stefani, who runs numerous Chicago-area eateries as president of Phil Stefani Signature Restaurants, has been a member of the CCTB since 1983 and has previously served the bureau as secretary and treasurer of the board of directors.
