Joining the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Hotel Association of Greater Dallas has voiced its opposition to a 3 percent hike in the city's already high 15 percent bed tax, in order to finance a new stadium for the NFL's Dallas Cowboys. "We have seen the official proposal from the Cowboys, and we oppose the funding mechanism that would build the stadium," said Frank Naboulsi, general manager of the Fairmont Hotel, Dallas, and chair of the Hotel Association. "This would adversely impact our ability to compete for group meetings nationwide." He added that the hospitality community supports the Cowboys and wants them in town, but not at the price of a tax increase.
