Realty Capital Partners of Colleyville, Texas, is buying the 434-room Ramada Plaza Hotel in Fort Worth. The hotel will be renovated and managed by Harrell Hospitality.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Inc. has announced development plans for the Fairmont Mayakoba, Riviera Maya, a 401-room luxury resort expected to open in late 2005 near the town of Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Set in the heart of Mayakoba's tropical jungle, the property will provide 30,000 square feet of meeting space as well as a Greg Norman-designed 18-hole championship golf course and Fairmont's exclusive Willow Stream spa, this one measuring 16,000 square feet. The company also will develop two new hotel and resort properties in the United Arab Emirates, both opening in late 2006. The 300-room Fairmont Palm Hotel & Resort, on Dubai's palm-shaped Jumeirah Island, will offer 25,000 square feet of meeting space as well as a 15,000 square-foot Willow Stream spa. Also planned is the Fairmont Abu Dhabi Resort & Villas, with 60,000 square feet of dedicated meeting space (30,000 of which are comprised of outdoor facilities) and a 21,000 square-foot spa, also of the Fairmont-exclusive Willow Stream brand.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announced last week a new spa brand, CHI, which will emphasize an Eastern view on well-being in its treatments and design. The first spa will open in June at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, with plans for nine more over the next three years.
