The Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau is eliminating four staff positions, one of them a convention sales manager. The changes come after the bureau received $500,000 less in bed taxes last year than in 2002. A bureau spokesperson said the downsizing is not performance-related, but rather part of an effort to match the ACVB's cost structure to those of similar-sized bureaus elsewhere in the country. The three other jobs include the vice president of administration, the director of tourism and one other sales manager position.
