The Beverly Hilton will be sold by the end of the year. Entertainer and businessman Merv Griffin, who purchased the 582-room property in 1987, announced last week he has agreed to sell the 582-room property to Oasis West, a company owned by Beny Alagem, an entrepreneur in the computer industry. According to Griffin, the new owners are planning to renovate the hotel, which will keep its name and will continue to be managed by Hilton Hotels Corp.

The 365-room Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, to open next fall in the Cayman Islands, announced an agreement last week with La Prairie to operate its 20,000-square-foot spa. La Prairie currently runs the spa at the Ritz-Carlton, Central Park, in New York City.

Last week, Hilton Caribbean announced its 15th property, the Hilton Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. The 228-room hotel, nearing completion and opening this spring, will offer 17,000 square feet of meeting space.
