Las Vegas' new monorail system, which begins service in February with four-car carriages holding 300 people, is joining with Nextel Communications Inc., to create a wireless business center within the 15,000-square-foot station at the Las Vegas Convention Center (the largest of the system's nine stations). Offerings will include a business theater, a retail store, concierge services and 3-D video screens, with Nextel experts on hand to answer any questions. The monorail will run from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. every day and will be extended to downtown Las Vegas and McCarran International Airport in 2007.
