The 1,524-seat Joan W. and Irving B. Harris Theater for Music and Dance opened Saturday in Chicago's new 24.5-acre Millennium Park. The three-tiered lobby and adjacent donor's lounge of the 1,524-seat theater can host 1,560 for a reception. Millennium Park, in the northwest corner of Grant Park, will offer a music pavilion and outdoor sculptures when it is completed in summer 2004.

The 1909 Milwaukee Theatre, adjacent to the Wisconsin city's convention center, reopened Friday after a $42 million restoration. The multitiered lobby of the 4,100-seat venue offers more than 30,000 square feet for receptions of up to 3,000.
