Lisa Grimaldi and Michael J. ShapiroDecember 16, 2009
The 170-room Ritz-Carlton Highlands, Lake Tahoe, opened last week, mid-mountain at the Northstar-at-Tahoe resort. The $300 million project offers ski-in, ski-out access, an on-site restaurant created by acclaimed San Francisco chef Traci Des Jardins, and a 17,000-square-foot spa and fitness center. In Arizona, the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, debuts Friday just northwest of Tucson. The 250-room property includes the Jack Nicklaus-designed, 27-hole Ritz-Carlton Golf Club; three ballrooms and five meeting rooms; a 17,000-square-foot spa, and four restaurants. Several outdoor venues also are available for events, and there is additional function space in the golf clubhouse.
