Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway Receives LEED Silver Certification

by Michael C. LoweFebruary 3, 2012

The Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway recently earned silver LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The 403-room hotel now uses 30 percent less water and 28 percent less energy than a typical non-LEED hotel; 20 percent of its supplies are sourced from within a 500-mile radius; and the property also features hybrid rental cars and premium parking spaces for low-emission, fuel-efficient vehicles. The hotel, with 21,000 square feet of meeting space, is a two-minute light-rail ride via the ATL SkyTrain from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and is connected to the 400,000-square-foot Georgia International Convention Center by a covered walkway.
