Free Labor
by Jonathan Vatner11/8/2010
It's no secret that meeting planning takes a tremendous amount of work. Fortunately, you can get college students and recent graduates to do much of that work for free — and you'll be helping to train the next generation of planners. Post internship opportunities with the career centers at local universities, and you can get students to assist with setup, bag stuffing, registration and other simple tasks. Thanks to Jill Lazar, a principal of Everything Events (everythingeventsco.com) in Providence, R.I., for the idea.
