Ground Broken on New Convention Center in Georgia

by Michael C. LoweSeptember 28, 2011

The city of Douglasville recently broke ground on an $11.6 million convention center, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Officials expect the 35,000-square-foot facility to attract business from nearby Paulding County and the Harstfield-Jackson International Airport area. No opening date has been set for the center. Douglasville's current 10,000-square-foot convention center was built in 2001.
