GSA Raises Mileage Rate for Federal Employees

The General Services Administration has increased the mileage reimbursement rate for federal employees who use their private vehicles for work. As of Jan. 1, the rate for cars is now 56.5 cents per mile, up 1 cent over last year's rate. The number is the same rate used by the Internal Revenue Service for private sector workers, though the GSA is not required to match the IRS figure.
