People who love to peek at guest lists in advance should note that a new service called Planely lets travelers know who they're going to be flying with. Simply go to planely.com, register, and then, once you've booked, enter the relevant details online.

"We'll connect you with other Planely flyers who are on the same flight," says Nick Martin, CEO and founder. "You can then arrange to sit together on the plane and/or share a cab home."

Martin says the idea for Planely came to him from "sitting next to interesting people during trips, which made it fun and made the time fly."

The basic service is free; for a fee, Planely can provide metrics on attendee travel and more.
