Los Angeles Sees Record Breaking Year in 2013

Los Angeles welcomed a record 41.4 million visitors in 2012, a 2.5 percent increase over the previous high of 40.4 million visitors in 2011. Domestic travelers increased by 2.7 percent over 2011 to 35.3 million visitors, while international visitors hit a record 6 million visitors, a 1.2 percent increase over last year. China was the destination's top overseas market. In addition, direct visitor spending, hotel occupancy and hotel room nights also hit record breaking highs. Early tourism forecasts for this year estimate 41.9 million visitors will see L.A.'s sights in 2013.
