The Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board (LA Tourism) announced that Ernest Wooden Jr. will succeed Mark Liberman as the organization's CEO this month. Wooden has spent more than a decade in senior leadership positions with Hilton Hotels Corp., including a post as executive vice president of the hotel chain's global brand management, where he worked with 3,000 properties in 80 countries. "Tourism is a cornerstone of the city's bright future given the many exciting developments on the horizon," said Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaigosa. "Ernie has the industry experience and knowledge to help us grow our convention and tourism business." A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Wooden has been a Los Angeles-area resident since 1999.
