Meeting in a Locker Room

The 511-room Omni San Diego is the only U.S. hotel attached to a ballpark -- PETCO Park, home of the San Diego Padres baseball team. And now both facilities are working together to provide groups staying at the hotel with a unique meeting venue -- the Visitor's Clubhouse, which is a nice way of saying the opposing team's locker room.

"We're just rolling out this initiative now," notes Patsy Bock, area director, sales and marketing, for the hotel. "It's a totally unique space, and attendees can go from our ballrooms on the fourth floor directly to the clubhouse via a sky bridge."

Far from being a typically sweaty locker room, the Visitor's Clubhouse is more like a plush executive conference facility complete with personal closet space. "We can have conference tables decked out with Padres-branded materials and personalized jerseys hanging in the lockers, all ready for attendees when they arrive," says Bock.

It's all part of the Omni San Diego's "Grand Slam for Groups" package, which also includes overnight accommodations and an insider's tour of the stadium. The Omni itself offers a total of 27,000 square feet of meeting space, including a divisible ballroom of just under 10,000 square feet. For more information: (619) 645-6540
