PCMA Reports Record-Breaking Virtual Attendance

 The Professional Convention Management Association reported that 683 people virtually attended the hybrid component of its Convening Leaders 2013 annual meeting, representing 30 percent of all attendees and the most ever to virtually attend a PCMA event. An additional 160 people attended the one-day rebroadcast of select sessions from the meeting. The 843 total virtual attendees tuned in from 21 different countries; only 266 were PCMA members. One-third were association meeting professionals, while 15 percent were independent and 9 percent were corporate meeting professionals. More than half of attendees (52 percent) spent more than six hours participating in the hybrid event, and more than 7,000 live chats took place.
