Out in the serene wilds of Pennsyl­vania sits the 181-room Inn at Pocono Manor, built at the turn of the 20th century.  

The main draws here are the two scenic golf courses. The East, a challenging Donald Ross design, open­ed in 1927, while the West, a more forgiving layout, debuted in 1959.

A $4 million refurbishment in the works at the property will be completed by the end of the year and includes the 25,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel also features a full-service spa with 20 treatment rooms.
