Rail Line Opens to Irving Convention Center, Texas

by Sarah J.F. BraleyAugust 1, 2012

The Orange Line of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit opened Monday, a 4.5-mile section of the 14-mile, $1.3 billion project that eventually will reach Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The new line currently stops at the University of Dallas, the Las Colinas Urban Center and the Irving Convention Center. In December, the second phase will open to North Lake College and Belt Line Road, where buses will take passengers to and from the airport. When the DFW station opens in 2014, it will connect downtown Dallas to the airport.
