San Francisco to Get New Cruise Terminal

by Michael C. LoweDecember 21, 2011

The San Francisco Port Commission has voted in favor of an $86 million waterfront development that would include a cruise-ship terminal at the Pier 27, according to Travel Weekly. The new 88,000-square-foot terminal would be able to berth vessels up to 1,300 feet long and would replace the existing terminal at nearby Pier 35 that will function as a backup facility for ships up to 1,000 feet long. The development also calls for a 2.5-acre waterfront park and is expected to be completed in late 2014.
