Study: Procurement More Involved in Incentive Travel Purchasing

According to a joint study by the Site International Foundation and IMEX, more than half (55 percent) of the 102 incentive professionals polled said corporate procurement or purchasing departments had an even stronger influence in 2012 than they had in 2010 and 2011. In other findings, 63 percent said they had even less time to respond to requests for proposals in 2012 than in the past; requests for corporate-required competitive bids was cited as the main cause for losing out on a bid, according to 65 percent of those polled, while 53 percent cited price, and 72 percent of respondents said the level of service was the most significant factor in deciding to change suppliers.
