Video Resource for Planners

by Sarah J.F. BraleyAugust 1, 2011

Launched in June, the Event Leadership Institute (eventleadershipinstitute.com) offers on-demand video learning for those in the meetings industry. At press time, 18 video "micro classes" were available, under the headings Business Ownership, Event Management, Venues and Destinations, Strategy and ROI, and Technical Production, with 10 more classes in the works.

"We want our site to be the go-to place for everything you need to know to plan an event," says Howard Givner, executive director of the institute.
Among the class choices is "Defining Your Brand: Passion, Philosophy, Platform & Process," a $45, 42-minute webcast featuring Sean Low, whose blog, The Business of Being Creative, often caters to wedding planners but has insights for everyone in the events industry. (You'll find a great post at bit.ly/npJCLE.) The class promises great tips, including a discussion of the difference between growing your business (getting more clients) and expanding it (adding a new service).
