A multiple-phase upgrade project has begun at the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle, to be completed through 2013. About $20 million will be spent and sustainable materials will be used, including carpet and wall coverings made with recycled materials, long-life toxin-free porcelain tile, Greenguard and NFS-certified solid surfacing material and low VOC paints, paneling and trim.
