Meeting planners have a new source for help with events in the Mile-High City. The Denver Alliance is a group of five entities aimed at streamlining the planning process for using the city's convention center. The members are Visit Denver, the convention and visitors bureau; the city's Division of Theatres and Arenas, which owns the Colorado Convention Center; Centerplate, the center's catering partner; the 1,100-room Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center; and SMG, which manages the center. The city also now is part of the Rocky Mountain Greener Venues Partnership, which includes 10 sites dedicated to following environmental practices such as energy and water conservation and waste management. Along these lines, the convention center just installed a rooftop solar power system. visitdenver.org
