Hawaiian Airlines has added a third flight from Las Vegas to Honolulu, four times per week.

Kuhio box 1 The 601-room Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio Hotel has wrapped up a $65 million renovation. Notable features are the new MAC 24-7 Bar and Restaurant, a lobby bar, a sundeck, and 17,000 square feet of meeting and event space. (808) 922-0811; princekuhiohotel.com

Early last year, the 3,250-room Hilton Hawaiian Village completed a $15 million revitalization porject of its Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon. The five-acre body of water had been in dire need of an ecological overhaul and now shows the results of a stunning relandscaping. The transformation is largely thanks to a saltwater pump that directs fresh ocean water through the pond from 250 feet below sea level, five times per day. Though Hilton doesn't officially own the lagoon, the hotel company took on the task of restoration and now uses it for private events. An A/V-equipped island in the center of the lagoon can be used by groups. On a much drier note is the hotel's new 27,000-square-foot Great Lawn, which accommodates receptions of up to 2,000 people.
