Texan newcomer. The St. Anthony, a Luxury Collection Hotel, has opened in San Antonio, just three blocks from the Alamo. The 227-room property offers a rooftop pool, a marble- and bronze-filled sculpture garden, fresh seafood at Rebelle, and a hefty 31,527 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.  

More Debuts 
 The 171-room Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Dallas has opened just steps from Dealey Plaza and the AT&T Performing Arts Center. Part of an $80 million mixed-use hotel and residential complex, the property has 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, and each guest room offers a "hospitality center" with a mini fridge, microwave oven and Keurig coffee maker. The on-site Shelby Hall Restaurant & Bar features seasonal Southern cuisine.

 The 175-room Aloft Santa Clara has opened in San Jose, Calif., with 2,715 square feet of meeting space spread among four dedicated areas, and patented Starwood features such as the Re:mix lounge, a splash pool, the W XYZ Bar and Re:charge gym. The hotel is minutes from San Jose International Airport and one mile from the Santa Clara Convention Center, which offers more than 262,000 square feet of event space.

 In Taiwan, the 320-room Tapiei Marriott Hotel has opened in the Dazhi district, the capital city's lively new commercial hub. Features include the Lobby Lounge, with all-day bites and free Wi-Fi; the Garden Kitchen, surrounded by namesake greenery, offering Asian-inspired Western fare served semi-buffet style; and Inge's Bar and Grill on the 20th floor, with gourmet cuisine and an open-air terrace lounge with stunning city views. The hotel also has its own 32,300-square-foot convention center and an elegant 13,600-square-foot grand ballroom.

The Gwen, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Chicago, has opened in the Windy City with 300 guest rooms, more than 15,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, and shopping on all sides of its perch on North Rush Street in the Magnificent Mile.

• The 170-room DoubleTree by Hilton Woking has opened just 28 miles from central London and 20 minutes from Heathrow Airport. The hotel has 11 meeting rooms spanning a total of 9,392 square feet.
• In other DoubleTree news closer to home, the 293-room DoubleTree by Hilton Jacksonville Riverfront, formerly a Crowne Plaza, has opened in Florida with an impressive two-story atrium lobby, the new St. John's Provision Co.

• The 412-room DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Xishuangbanna in Yunnan province has opened as the brand's 23rd hotel in China. Owned by Wanda Hotels & Resorts, the property is minutes from Xishuangbanna International Airport and features guest rooms with private terraces overlooking Wanda Theme Park, three signature restaurants and a 7,100-square-foot pillarless grand ballroom.

• The incentive-worthy Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech, has opened in this storied Moroccan city, surrounded by nearly 50,000 acres of landscaped gardens and a backdrop dominated by the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. The property has 54 private villas, all with secluded walled gardens, swimming pools and hot tubs, and nine suites, most with their own rooftop plunge pool. For events, the hotel has a ballroom and two smaller meeting spaces, and receptions and dinners can be staged in the outdoor gardens. Other offerings include a restaurant that features modern Spanish cuisine, a signature Moroccan restaurant, a tapas bar and pool house grill, an 18,000-square-foot spa with six treatment rooms, a pool and a fitness center. Nearby, two world-class golf courses await. 

• In Shenzhen, China, the 320-room Hilton Shenzhen Futian has opened in the heart of the city's financial and commercial center, within walking distance of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Centre. The hotel has 17 flexible function spaces spanning a total of 25,833 square feet, including a 6,458-square-foot pillar-free grand ballroom. Other features include a 24-hour fitness center, a heated outdoor swimming pool and a variety of on-site dining options, including the Lan Ting Chinese restaurant for contemporary Cantonese and Sichuan specialties.
