 The 200-room Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six in Fort Lauderdale has unveiled its newly renovated 5,900-square-foot Panorama Ballroom, now sporting new carpeting, lighting, furnishings and a fresh color palette.

 The Westin San Francisco Airport has finished a $10 million renovation of its lobby (including a new stone fireplace and botanical-themed carpet), the Runway Café and more. The 397-room hotel has 22,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space spread over 29 rooms.  

 The 396-room Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown has debuted its new 2,600-square-foot One Broadway Meeting Room, giving the property a total of 25,318 square feet of event space among 15 meeting rooms.

• In Ohio, the boutique 135-room Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph, has opened up two spa suites, marked by their custom stone and marble décor, stone-tiled rain shower with seven sprayer heads, a steam room, a soaking tub and a flat-screened TV embedded behind mirrored walls. The hotel has 7,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.

• The 393-room Hunt Valley Inn in Baltimore has completed a $15 million renovation that included updates for the hotels function spaces (including the 33,000-square-foot convention hall), guest rooms and common amenities, all in conjunction with the property joining the upscale Wyndham Grand Collection.

• The boutique 86-room West Inn & Suites in San Diego has unveiled its new executive boardroom, which seats up to 18 people on ergonomic leather chairs; other features include a Clarus Glass blackboard and a "cutting-edge" granite conference table.

• The 295-room Eaglewood Resort and Spa in Itasca, llI., has completed a $7.7 million renovation of its guest rooms, balconies and patios, three fitness studios and six-lane bowling alley, along with having added a high-end Grab & Go market. The property has 37,000 square feet of IACC-certified meeting space.

• In Denver, the Brown Palace Hotel and Spa has finished a $10.5 million revamp of 200 of its 224 guest rooms and added 3,500 square feet of new meeting space for a new total of 23,253 square feet, which can accommodate up to 800 guests. The second floor now comprises a meeting and conference center on all three sides of the soaring atrium lobby.

• In Orlando, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel has completed a redesign of all 758 rooms in the Swan side of the property, part of a $125 million project that will next tackle all 1,509 rooms in the Dolphin. Along with new colors and furnishings, all accommodations are getting new bathrooms with residential-style vanities and a back-lit mirror on iridescent glass tiles. All work should be completed by the end of 2017, and the property will remain fully operational throughout.

• The 572-room Marriott Houston Airport at George Bush Intercontinental Airport has completed the first phase of an extensive renovation. More than 300 guest rooms have been revamped with new furnishings, and the hotel's 30,000 square feet of meeting space has been upgraded. Phase two will expand the lobby and add a new restaurant.

• The 629-room D Las Vegas has upgraded its 11,000 square feet of meeting space on the 12th floor with technical enhancements of the 6,000-square-foot Detroit Ballroom and the addition of a new outdoor terrace. The hotel has a two-level casino, classic American fare at the D Grill, authentic Italian at Joe Vicari's Andiamo Italian Steakhouse and Vegas-style entertainment (what else?) at The Showroom at the D.

Texan newcomer. The St. Anthony, a Luxury Collection Hotel, has opened in San Antonio, just three blocks from the Alamo. The 227-room property offers a rooftop pool, a marble- and bronze-filled sculpture garden, fresh seafood at Rebelle, and a hefty 31,527 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.  

More Debuts 
 The 171-room Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Dallas has opened just steps from Dealey Plaza and the AT&T Performing Arts Center. Part of an $80 million mixed-use hotel and residential complex, the property has 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, and each guest room offers a "hospitality center" with a mini fridge, microwave oven and Keurig coffee maker. The on-site Shelby Hall Restaurant & Bar features seasonal Southern cuisine.

 The 175-room Aloft Santa Clara has opened in San Jose, Calif., with 2,715 square feet of meeting space spread among four dedicated areas, and patented Starwood features such as the Re:mix lounge, a splash pool, the W XYZ Bar and Re:charge gym. The hotel is minutes from San Jose International Airport and one mile from the Santa Clara Convention Center, which offers more than 262,000 square feet of event space.

 In Taiwan, the 320-room Tapiei Marriott Hotel has opened in the Dazhi district, the capital city's lively new commercial hub. Features include the Lobby Lounge, with all-day bites and free Wi-Fi; the Garden Kitchen, surrounded by namesake greenery, offering Asian-inspired Western fare served semi-buffet style; and Inge's Bar and Grill on the 20th floor, with gourmet cuisine and an open-air terrace lounge with stunning city views. The hotel also has its own 32,300-square-foot convention center and an elegant 13,600-square-foot grand ballroom.

The Gwen, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Chicago, has opened in the Windy City with 300 guest rooms, more than 15,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, and shopping on all sides of its perch on North Rush Street in the Magnificent Mile.

• The 170-room DoubleTree by Hilton Woking has opened just 28 miles from central London and 20 minutes from Heathrow Airport. The hotel has 11 meeting rooms spanning a total of 9,392 square feet.
• In other DoubleTree news closer to home, the 293-room DoubleTree by Hilton Jacksonville Riverfront, formerly a Crowne Plaza, has opened in Florida with an impressive two-story atrium lobby, the new St. John's Provision Co.

• The 412-room DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Xishuangbanna in Yunnan province has opened as the brand's 23rd hotel in China. Owned by Wanda Hotels & Resorts, the property is minutes from Xishuangbanna International Airport and features guest rooms with private terraces overlooking Wanda Theme Park, three signature restaurants and a 7,100-square-foot pillarless grand ballroom.

• The incentive-worthy Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech, has opened in this storied Moroccan city, surrounded by nearly 50,000 acres of landscaped gardens and a backdrop dominated by the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. The property has 54 private villas, all with secluded walled gardens, swimming pools and hot tubs, and nine suites, most with their own rooftop plunge pool. For events, the hotel has a ballroom and two smaller meeting spaces, and receptions and dinners can be staged in the outdoor gardens. Other offerings include a restaurant that features modern Spanish cuisine, a signature Moroccan restaurant, a tapas bar and pool house grill, an 18,000-square-foot spa with six treatment rooms, a pool and a fitness center. Nearby, two world-class golf courses await. 

• In Shenzhen, China, the 320-room Hilton Shenzhen Futian has opened in the heart of the city's financial and commercial center, within walking distance of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Centre. The hotel has 17 flexible function spaces spanning a total of 25,833 square feet, including a 6,458-square-foot pillar-free grand ballroom. Other features include a 24-hour fitness center, a heated outdoor swimming pool and a variety of on-site dining options, including the Lan Ting Chinese restaurant for contemporary Cantonese and Sichuan specialties.
