 San Francisco's Bently Reserve, an ornate 1924 bank building turned into a 14,000-square-foot event venue, has completed a renovation that includes upgraded technology, new and refreshed meeting space, and an intricately restored entryway.

 The Westin New York at Times Square has finished a $33 million refresh that included all 873 guest rooms, corridors, 34,000 square feet of meeting space and more. The hotel also has greatly expanded its energy-conservation practices.

 The Hotel Maya in Long Beach, Calif., has completed a $4 million revamp that updated its 199 guest rooms and added a new 6,400-square-foot pavilion and 10,000-square-foot terrace for events.

Northwest newcomer. The 716-room Davenport Grand Hotel has opened across the street from the Spokane (Wash.) Convention Center. A member of Marriott's Autograph Collection, the property offers free high-speed Internet service, 64,173 square feet of meeting and event space, and a 200-seat rooftop terrace bar.

 In Texas, the 194-room DoubleTree by Hilton Austin Northwest-Arboretum has opened just 18 miles from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. A total transformation of a former Holiday Inn, the hotel features the Overlook restaurant ("classic American fare with an Austin flair"); the lobby's Centre Lounge for drinks and light bites; free Wi-Fi in all public spaces and guest rooms; a 24-hour fitness center, and an outdoor pool. The property offers 7,200 square feet of meeting space that can be configured as one to seven separate rooms, plus two conference rooms and a boardroom.  The Westin San Jose recently debuted within walking distance of the San Jose McEnery Convention Center and San Jose State University in California. The property's 171 guest rooms have complimentary high-speed Internet access, 40-inch LCD TVs and Westin Heavenly Beds, while dining takes place in Il Fornaio, with its accent on premium Italian cuisine. For meetings, 10 dedicated spaces include the 3,425-square-foot Grande Ballroom, adorned with vintage 1920s chandeliers and mirrored walls.  

• The 120-room Hampton Inn by Hilton Edmonton/Sherwood Park has opened in Alberta, Canada. The hotel, lakeside in Sherwood Park, has an indoor saltwater pool, a patio overlooking the lake, a fitness center and a 1,500-square-foot meeting room that can host up to 100 people.
