Tax Haven
All meetings held on Bermuda are U.S. tax deductible; the island has no sales tax, and food-and-beverage costs for group functions are not taxed.

Bermuda 
The 410-room Fairmont Hamilton Princess has been purchased by Bermuda developer Peter Green and his two sons. The landmark property, which has nine meetings rooms, will undergo a $50 million refurbishment that includes the development of a marina. Fairmont Hotels and Resorts remains the management company for the property.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts now manages Tucker's Point Hotel & Spa. The 88-room property, officially renamed Rosewood Tucker's Point, has 19 meeting and event spaces. In other changes at the hotel, the spa has been relaunched under the Sense name, Rosewood's proprietary brand.

Beginning in April, Delta Air Lines will start daily year-round service between New York City's LaGuardia International Airport and Bermuda's L.F. Wade International Airport, making it even easier for U.S. travelers to head to the island.

The 593-room Fairmont Southampton, Bermuda Resort, has completed upgrades to its guest rooms and public spaces, including the restaurant, which is now called the Ocean Club. The property has 18 meeting rooms.

Bermuda's time is one hour later than U.S. Eastern Standard Time.

Group VenuesThe historic Royal Naval Dockyard
The Royal Naval Dockyard, on Bermuda's West End, was built in 1814 and dubbed the Gibraltar of the West for its strategic importance to the British navy in the Western Hemisphere. The vast, 30-acre complex includes the Bermuda Maritime Museum, which incorporates several historic buildings and venues perfect for private events. Among them are the Keepyard, which can be tented for receptions of up to 3,000 or seated dinners for 600. A formal dining room in the stately Commissioner's House seats up to 38. For outdoor events, the Northern Promenade Lawn and the Clocktower Parade Lawn offer a combined 20,000 square feet of space. (See M&C's video highlights at bit.ly/UyHfDv.)

The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo, in picturesque Flatts Inlet on the East End of the island, accommodates up to 80 guests for dinner and 150 for cocktails, while various lecture rooms also are available to host anywhere from 30 to 100 people. (441) 293-2727

The Bermuda National Gallery houses a collection of 20th-century art representing a variety of artists from Africa and Europe, as well as Bermuda. The gallery can accommodate groups of 10 to 300 attendees. (441) 295-9428

Incentives
Reward top performers with a day trip to  Nonsuch Island, a nature preserve that's just a 15-minute boat ride from Tucker's Point. Groups of up to 24 are guided along winding pathways and pink-sand beaches to the cliffs, where cahows, elusive seafaring birds, live and nest. Bermuda's natural beauty extends underground: Crystal Caves is a natural wonder 120 feet below the surface. Pair a tour of the caves with a  visit to the 12-acre Walsingham Nature Reserve. (441) 293-0640
