• In October, the 2,500-seat George S. and Dolores Eccles Theater will open one block east of the Salt Palace Convention Center. The venue will have cutting-edge staging, outdoor terraces and a restaurant.
• Salt Lake City International Airport is building a second concourse and renovating the first. The new $740 million North Concourse will add 30 gates. The $2.6 billion project will finish in 2020.

In June, Escape Room Park City opened its Mine Trap room, where groups of eight people use clues to unlock the door and break out. The 90-minute activity is ideal for team building.
PARK CITY, UTAH
• The 220-room Montage Deer Valley has added to its meeting facilities. The new Empire Room features the 2,000-square-foot Empire Terrace and the 3,000-square-foot Empire Lounge; the Empire East and Empire West rooms, each spanning 1,375 square feet, can be combined. The property's meeting space now totals 20,000 square feet indoors and 35,000 square feet outdoors.
• The 288-condo Lodges at Deer Valley has added a new casual-dining restaurant. The Brass Tag, a nod to the area's mining heritage, offers brick-oven comfort food including fresh seafood skillets, seared meats, oven-roasted fresh fish and locally sourced produce. The property is steps away from many local attractions, including the Park City Museum.
• Blue Sky Utah has opened in nearby Wanship on a 3,500-acre parcel with views of the Wasatch Mountains. On-site is a renovated barn with meeting space, horseback riding, fly-fishing and fine dining; tours and event space also are offered at the award-winning High West Distillery and Saloon. Opening by the end of 2018 are a 46-room hotel and five luxury yurts for overnight guests.
• Bill White, a local culinary fixture since 1993 whose Grappa Italian and Billy Blanco's Motor City Mexican are among the area's best eateries, has launched Bill White Farms, a nonprofit agriculture, education and sustainability center on the historic Hixon Farm. Groups of up to 30 can take cooking classes, practice harvesting and learn organic agriculture techniques.

Out in the Cold
In winter, reserve the Viking Yurt for a fun-filled Norwegian-style dinner experience that begins with a 23-minute sleigh ride 1,800 vertical feet up Park City Mountain. After settling in, groups of up to 40 people can have the yurt to themselves for live piano music and a six-course gourmet meal.
