In a
city where new hotels seem to pop up daily, an old timer
with the fresh face of a newcomer is getting more than a second
glance.
The Madison, just four blocks north of the White House,
recently finished an extensive $40 million makeover to restore the
building to its original Federal-style design. Unique to the hotel,
and a hit with Capitol Hill politicians, are two very private
dining rooms, the Hawk and the Dove, which seat six and eight,
respectively. In addition to eight meeting rooms, the Dolley
Madison ballroom can host 400.
In April, the long-awaited National World War II Memorial was
unveiled. Up next is the National Museum of the American Indian,
set
to open in September.
