Meetings mecca:
Fairmont’s Mount Temple wing
In the blue Canadian Rockies, Lake Louise,
Alberta, is a wonderland for skiers and winter-sports enthusiasts.
In spring, silent forests come alive with greenery, and golden
poppies bloom along the lakeside.
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise just celebrated the one-year
anniversary of the opening of its $65 million meetings facility,
the Mount Temple wing, which boosts the 550-room property’s meeting
space to 36,000 square feet. The addition’s wall murals and stained
glass depict the awe-inspiring local scenery.
Between sessions, planners can organize a high-tech
team-building activity called “geocaching,” whereby players use
global satellite positioning to find clues hidden in the chateau’s
dramatic surroundings.
