Revamped and restored:
The US Grant hotel
Amazing what $50 million can
do, isn’t it? The 270-room US Grant hotel, a member of the
Starwood Luxury Collection, reopened last fall, glittering from a
top-to-bottom renovation. Originally built in 1910, the hotel now
stands restored and modernized, equal parts Beaux Arts and
contemporary chic, a straight shot down Fourth Avenue from the San
Diego Convention Center.
Official meeting space spans 33,000
square feet, plus two 4,000-square-foot terraces, but some of the
marble showers in the hotel’s 47 suites are large enough to be
boardrooms (benches provide enough seating for up to four or
five).
Plan to enjoy at least one dinner at
the gourmet Grant Grill.
