The International Special Events Society named the
winners of the Esprit Award for excellence in event planning at
Eventworld, the society’s annual meeting, held in August in
Chicago, where ISES is based. Among the winning firms:
Two companies, P&V Enterprises of New York City and Vok
Dams Gruppe, based in Wuppertal, Germany, shared the top honors for
best creative concept.
In the category of corporate event planning, budget of up to
$50,000, Toronto-based Eclectic Events International took the
prize; for budget of $50,001 to $100,000, The Meetinghouse
Companies in Elmhurst, Ill., won the top spot, and for budget over
$100,000, Toronto-based Hala Event & Communications was the
recipient.
In the catering category, informally called the “créme de la
créme” award, Thomas Caterers of Distinction, based in
Indianapolis, won for off-premise catering, while the Ritz-Carlton,
Naples, won for on-premise catering.
For entertainment production, Calgary, Canada-based e=mc2 Event
Management won in the budget of up to $30,000 category;
Toronto-based Visions Display won for the $30,001-$75,000 slot, and
Orlando-based T. Skorman Productions took top honors for a budget
over $75,000.
