Incentive Newsline: Entertainment Budgets on the Rise

Eighty-three percent of U.S. marketing executives expect their corporate entertainment budgets to increase this year, compared with 2003.
That was among the findings of a survey conducted recently by TSE Sports and Entertainment, an events firm based in New York City.
The study further queried respondents about one popular type of corporate entertainment: sports.
When asked which specific sporting events are best for business networking, 54 percent of the 313 respondents cited the Super Bowl. College football bowl games came in second place (21 percent), followed by the US Open tennis tournament (11 percent) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Final Four basketball championship (7 percent).
Golf is the participation sport the majority of respondents (63 percent) consider most beneficial for business purposes. Ranking second with executives was tennis (18 percent), followed by basketball (14 percent).
