A new cruise line,
Jewel River Cruises, has been launched by former Silversea Cruises
CEO Albert Peter. The Fort Lauderdale-based company has a fleet of
six ships and will add two new all-suite vessels in 2009 and 2010;
they will sail itineraries in Europe beginning this spring.
The 204-room Pragelato
Village Resort & Spa, in Italy’s Piedmont region, has been
reflagged as the Kempinski Pragelato Village. The property has a
spa and three meeting rooms; the spa will be expanded this
summer.
Regent Hotels &
Resorts will open its first hotel in France this month.
The Regent Bordeaux, a renovated palace, has 128 rooms and 22
suites designed by Jacques Garcia. The property also features a
3,000-square-foot spa.
The Gleneagles Hotel
in Scotland will unveil its new ESPA spa next month; the facility
features 20 treatment rooms. The 232-room property also has
launched a Gundog School, where guests can interact with and learn
how to handle Gleneagles’ trained hunting dogs.
