Area15, a new entertainment, special-event and retail venue, is slated to open off the Las Vegas Strip this coming December. The facility will offer 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, which will be available beginning in January 2020.
The unique venue promises a rotating selection of art installations and activations, as well as live events and retail space. The anchor tenant, Meow Wolf, is a Santa Fe, N.M.-based arts and entertainment group comprised of more than 300 artists and creative types specializing in architecture, sculpture, painting, photography, video production, AR/VR/mixed-reality projects, music, writing, performance and more.

The hub of the operation will be known as The Spine, a corridor through the facility that will spotlight rotating art installations, brand activations, retail pop-ups and F&B outlets. It will be available for private events as well.

The main event spaces include Sectar I, a walled-in 32,000-square-foot outdoor space with a capacity of as many as 4,500 people. The area will be able to be completely tented to provide shade. Sectar II will be a 7,000-square-foot indoor space outfitted with professional-grade audio and 3-D projection-mapping technology throughout. It will hold up to 800 attendees.

Sectar V will feature a unique bamboo volcano-like structure (the 'V' here stands for "volcano"), designed by the Balinese firm Ibuku Studio, spanning 1,900 square feet and able to accommodate up to 200 people.

All of the venue's event spaces will have access to a full-service catering kitchen and more than 800 free parking spaces.
