Nashville Uses Eminent Domain to Gain Convention Center Land

Last week, The Tennessean reported that Nashville's Metro Development and Housing Agency has filed suit in county circuit court to acquire by eminent domain certain properties needed for the new, 1.2 million-square-foot, $600 million convention center. Seven property owners are named in the suit. The MDHA's development director said his agency would continue to negotiate with the property owners even though eminent domain proceedings had begun.
