2017 Summit Award Winners Are Announced by ASAE
Here are ASAE's 2017 Summit Award winners for innovative programs:

• The National Auto Body Council for "Recycled Rides" (fixing/donating used cars)
• The National Council for Behavioral Health for "Be 1 in a Million" ("mental health first aid")
• The National Volunteer Fire Council for "Make Me a Firefighter" (recruitment)
• Soroptimist International of the Americas for "Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls."
Executive Appointments
Carmela Coyle has been named the next president and CEO of the California Hospital Association and its parent organization, the California Association of Hospitals & Health Systems, with offices in Sacramento, Calif., and Washington, D.C. Coyle currently serves as president and CEO of the Maryland Hospital Association, a post she has held since 2008. Prior to that, she worked for 20 years at the American Hospital Association, including 11 years as senior vice president of policy. Coyle will begin her new role in October, replacing longtime president and CEO Duane Dauner, who is retiring after leading both CHA and CAHHS for 23 years.
Randall Moore II, DNP, MBA, CRNA, has been appointed CEO of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Based in Park Ridge, Ill., and Washington, D.C., AANA is a professional organization representing more than 50,000 certified registered-nurse anesthetists and student registered-nurse anesthetists across the United States. For the past two years, Moore has worked as director of perioperative and anesthesia services at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, Ill. A longtime AANA member, Moore previously served as the association's treasurer and as a region director on the its board of directors. Moore succeeds former CEO Wanda Wilson, who announced her retirement earlier this year.
James Accomando has been installed as the president of the Alexandria, Va.-based National PTA, the oldest and largest all-volunteer child-advocacy association in the United States. His term will run until June 2019. An active PTA member for nearly 20 years, Accomando is a father of two and is married to a public school teacher. He has served in a variety of leadership roles, including president-elect of the PTA for the past two years. Before that, he was on the National PTA board of directors and a member of the National PTA Standards of Affiliation Committee.
Sports Scene
The Norton, Mass.-based Massachusetts Golf Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving amateur golf statewide since 1903, has selected Buffalo.Agency to provide strategic marketing and communications support. The Reston, Va.-based firm will work with the MGA to support its impending merger with the Women's Golf Association of Massachusetts, also based in Norton. The merger, effective Jan. 1, 2018, will allow the combined organization to focus on cultivating a broader suite of offerings to both member clubs and golfers. In addition, the MGA will expand its role as administrator of the First Tee of Massachusetts, an international youth-development organization, and its four program locations.
