Heading Back to Class
Once you’ve made the decision to go back to
school, a host of other important decisions will follow. Here are
some points to consider. (For more good advice, go to www.back2school.com.)
TO WHAT DEGREE? Are you looking for career
advancement or change, or personal growth? The answer will help you
decide whether to apply to a J.D., BFA or certificate program.
REGISTER ONLINE. Many classes allow online
registration. If you’re applying to a number of undergraduate
programs at once, visit the site of Common Application (www.commonapp.org). If
the schools you are interested in have signed up with the service,
it can be your one-stop registrar.
MINIMIZE YOUR COSTS. Find out if your company
offers tuition reimbursement. Other valuable sources of financial
support include loans, scholarships and fellowships; go to www.finaid.org for
details.
