FOR MANY
PLANNERS, Microsoft Excel is the software of choice for
managing a meeting. To help handle the data, meetings technology
expert Corbin Ball, CMP, based in Bellingham, Wash., has created 11
Excel tools that are available free from his Web site (
www.corbinball.com). The
tools -- including a catering-cost estimator and a hotel-pickup
tracker -- work with association meetings but can be used for
corporate events, too.

personal consultant Marina Crispo to help with everything from
sightseeing to scouting real estate. For $125 an hour, Crispo,
former managing director of Hermes, will be a high-end friend in
the big city.
