Short Cuts:ETC.Say no to suits. By the year 2000, 75 percent
of the U.S. white-collar work force will dress casually for work
every day, according to research by Levi Strauss & Co. Today,
53 percent generally go casual, up from 20 percent in 1995, and
nine out of 10 companies have a business casual dress policy.
At press time, the Cornell Hotel School, in
conjunction with the American Hotel & Motel Association and
American Express Travel Related Services, was in the process of
surveying some 15,000 executives on "best practices" in the U.S.
lodging industry. Findings will be published in March 1999. For a
