January 1998
Short Cuts:FAST FORWARD
For the Internet-savvy expo planner, Palo Alto,
Calif.-based BlueDot Software has developed a suite of programs
called EventTools for arranging and managing meetings through the
Web. Inside the EventTool-box are nine modules, among them
vPLANNER, which helps attendees search for and schedule seminars;
vREG, which manages online registrations; vEXPO, an online locator
of exhibitors and products; vBOOTH, where exhibitors build virtual
trade show booths; and vPRESS, which helps build an online
newsroom. EventTools are run using EventServer, which holds the
database and the interface for the modules. EventBuilder is for
creating and controlling all the online information, and
EventReporter helps planners track the data.
