Meetings & Conventions: Short Cuts May 1999

May 1999
Short Cuts:FAST FORWARD
For several years, some trade show organizers have been using
software called Expocad to arrange booth assignments as well as to
manage the show floor and packages offered to exhibitors. The
program’s creators, Aurora, Ill.-based Applied Computer Technology,
recently released Expocad VR2, a separate program that enables
exhibitors to choose their booth spaces over the Internet and link
their spaces on the exhibit-floor grid to their own Web sites. When
viewing the resulting floor plan, visitors to a show’s Web site can
map their trade show strategy. The information that is put on the
Internet must be created in Expocad.
Expocad VR2 costs $4,995 per domain name. This is in addition to
the purchase of the original version of Expocad, at $2,995 for one
user. For more information, contact Applied Computer Technology at
(630) 896-2281 or go to www.expocad.com
