Meetings & Conventions: Short Cuts June 1998

June 1998
Short Cuts:FAST FORWARD
A new generation of the popular PalmPilot
hand-held computer has hit the market. Along with the great
features of the earlier version - including handwriting recognition
and easy transfer of information to PCs and Macs - the Palm III,
from Mountain View, Calif.-based 3Com Corp., has more memory (2 MB)
and infrared connectivity capabilities.
The unit comes loaded with an address book, calculator,
sophisticated calendar, expense manager, e-mail program and
interactive to-do list. Packaged with it is a CD-ROM from MacMillan
Digital Publishing that has a financial calculator, world clock,
Web channel manager, drawing application, games and translating
software that lets you transfer information into personal
information managers.
Best of all, the new PalmPilot III retails for a reasonable
$399. For more information, contact 3Com at (650) 363-0982 or visit
the PalmPilot Web site (www.palm.com).
