The Ritz-Carlton Palm
Beach in Florida will celebrate its reopening this month,
following an extensive redesign and overhaul. The 310-room luxury
property has one more debut to come: Opening in early 2007 is the
28,000-square-foot Grand Spa.
The November elections
included the successful passage of several antismoking measures.
Arizona, Ohio and Nevada now join the growing list of states that
prohibit lighting up in restaurants, bars and most public spaces.
The new legislation takes effect as of January 2007.
The internal revenue
service’s suggested mileage rate for using a car for the
purposes of business travel will increase on Jan. 1, 2007, from
44.5 cents per mile to 48.5 cents per mile. The IRS rate is based
on an annual study of the cost of operating an automobile.
Delta Air lines will
launch four-times weekly nonstop service, beginning Dec. 9, from
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Piarco
International Airport in Trinidad.
